How much can I save with this type of pump?
With the new motor technology that these pumps have you can save a guaranteed 30% over your existing pool pump. The Variable Speed Pool Pump uses a permanent magnet motor that reduces cost immediately. Most people aren’t aware that their pool pump can cost an average of $100 plus dollars a month to run. Most of our customers are saving between $50-$95 dollars a month with this upgrade
Will a variable speed pool pump work with my existing equipment?
Yes. The pump has the ability to run at different speeds for different needs to work in harmony with your existing filter, heater, spa, salt system and water features. If necessary we can install a controller to interface with your existing switches and controls. Some existing controllers will not operate the pump. These brands include: Powerhouse X-10, Aquadyne, Leviton and some others.
What affect is running the new Variable Speed Pool Pump more hours at a slower speed going to have on my pool?
First off the filter is going to work more efficiently. The slower the flow rate the more effective a filter becomes. The life expectancy of the other equipment and plumbing is also extended because there is less pressure on it. We can set up different speeds for different times to ensure the cleaner or other water features are still working when you need them too. Going green does not have to turn your pool green.
I have a spa that waterfalls into my pool when the filter runs will the waterfall still work if I install this pump?
Yes it will. The nice thing about these pumps is if you want the same flow as your old pump you can simply set the speed of the new pump to flow the same and still cut energy usage by 30%. It gives you the ability to set the pump to the exact speed you desire therefore allowing you to choose how much you save. Or if you know that you only need the waterfall for two hours a day we can program that into the pump to save you even more money.
How do I achieve the highest energy savings with these pumps?
The answer is SLOW! By running the pump at the slowest speed possible you will use just a fraction of the money that you currently spend with a single speed pool pump. Traditionally a pool pump costs about .50 cents an hour to run. The new pumps can cut that cost down to about .02 cents an hour. You can run the pump 24 hours a day for the same cost as one hour a traditional pool pump.
What are the typical savings on an installation?
We have been averaging 50% to 70% savings on the installations we have done. Money wise this equates to about $50-$95 dollars a month.
